I bought this product to apply to an HP All-in-One desktop to reduce glare. It has virtually no bezel and I was hesitant about putting tape directly on the screen, so I tried Method 2 first. I found that this method left the filter about a millimeter or so away from the surface of the monitor, and this was enough to cause some distortion of text. It was quite uncomfortable to read. So, I removed all the clear plastic holders and tried Method 1. This enabled the filter to fit flush with the screen and text reading was much improved, though there was still some slight distortion. I was able to compensate for that by enlarging the font. Method 1 would probably have worked if I'd applied the tape completely on the screen rather than partially on the bevel. Fortunately, enough tape is supplied to make it possible to experiment, and it comes off easily enough. I didn't need the privacy function, but it does work amazingly well for that purpose. All in all, it's a good, well-made product that is easy to install. Four stars only because of the text distortion, but perhaps that's unavoidable.
