EDIT: After writing this (below) I found out that Revain sells replacement caps so I'll be buying one of those. I'm still disappointed that the company didn't bother to reply to emails. But at least I can fix it for under $10 instead of buying a whole bottle for a lot more. I love how the bottle keeps my water cold and it's the perfect size for me. I read that the new and improved lid also solves the internal discoloration problem mentioned below. I am assuming that when they say "stain" they are referring to the mold I see. Also, I'm really looking for a new pen! I look forward to trying this! I like this idea much better than the carabiner, which I never use because it's too heavy to fit that much weight in such a small space. I have nothing solid to hold on to. _________________ I LOVE this bottle. Used all the time. I fill it to the top with ice and then water and it stays cold until the next day! I just keep adding water as I drink it and the ice melts for quite a while so it worked AMAZING! About 10 months. And then the plastic fastener that keeps the lid closed immediately broke. Apparently it doesn't stand up to regular opening and closing. This means that this lid won't last long if you use this thing a lot (which I guess most of us do. It kind of makes sense. We want to drink more water). And without this latch, the lid won't stay closed. I had to come up with a wire clasp that is far from perfect. I've tried contacting the company to get a replacement part or cap but to no avail. No Answer. I would also like to point out that there is some kind of gummy substance in the lid that seals the hole and I've found that it gets moldy after a while. (I wish I hadn't noticed this sooner. It didn't occur to me that there was anything I should do to avoid it.) And mold is almost impossible to get rid of! I mean I cleaned and cleaned! It's like it's built into that rubber or something! Anyway, I'm ready to talk about it now, albeit with a broken latch scraping my hand on a wire that doesn't hold up very well because this IS a jury trial, after all. Too bad because like I said I loved this thing until this latch broke after about 10 months! But I expect a water bottle this expensive to last more than a year! I see that Revain has similar stainless steel bottles with caps that don't have this problematic closure. So I'll try them and see if they last longer. I hope they don't have the same mold problem. And now I'll definitely keep an eye on the inside of the lid, wash it sooner now that I know there might be mold growing there. Pooh!
