My experience with this pump has been mixed. The first pump I received had a manufacturing defect. As you can see in the pictures I've included with this review, the outlet port was clearly not welded well to the pump head body and was leaking. You can see the hole where the weld was incomplete. Second, the pump head filler plug also leaked shortly after the water came out of my house. I tried tightening the filler plug but it was already tight. I used the 1st pump once to see if the pump would do its job. The completed pump also has a Harbor Freight pump (of similar design and performance) that replaced this new pump. On the same day I ordered a second replacement pump from Revain and sent the first pump back. Second pump installed. No part of the pump head is leaking, however the inlet and outlet ports are either a bit short or the pipe thread itself is not deep enough. I had to use a lot more teflon tape (white tape) to seal them. The second pump works as expected. I installed a simple pressure gauge to see the pressure change. In my heaviest hose circuit, I connected 4 small ratcheted sprinkler heads in series. The pressure increases from about 25 psi without assistance to about 40 psi with assistance. Same results as my old pump again. Recommendations: #1 Make sure your PVC fittings can be screwed in deep enough to seal. Use lots of teflon tape if you plan to remove the pipe later, or PVC glue to make it permanent (not recommended). I have to cover one for 4 years. I recommend Square Trade or Asurion. In this case, Square Trade had a better deal when I bought the pump. SquareTrade 4 Year Protection Plan ($75-99.99) #3 NEVER RUN THE PUMP DRY! These are not industrial pumps and they don't last long dry (I can confirm that). Final Thoughts: I gave this review 4 stars (may change over time based on pump reliability and performance) mainly due to the poor build quality of the pump. 1st pump I'm back.
