Bad design - and confusing. The lip of the ball has 4 or 5 plastic triangles that act as stops when the lid is closed and then another that just sits there for no apparent reason. The problem is that these stops are essentially little plastic teeth. I didn't realize how spicy they were until my mom was cleaning a ball and yelled ouch as she drilled into one. At first I thought closing the lid would create a ledge over the plastic stops to protect your pet. But after realizing how sharp they were, I unscrewed the bullet and ripped it in half to test. No, no protection. Just sharp jagged little triangles. The stupidity is that there is no reason for them to be like that. Make rounded stops (and remove unnecessary ones). Basically, you're asking your pet to trip over small plastic knives.
