I have a regular mandolin that I never use because it is usually too difficult to get hold of, set up and clean. This OXO portable mandolin is awesome. Just take it out of the drawer, turn the thickness adjustment knob and start slicing. It's so handy that I'll use it even if I just need to make a few pieces. Perfectly even (and very thin) onion slices in seconds! Suddenly all my sandwiches have diced onions in them. I really like that the handle can lock the blade in safe mode so you don't accidentally cut yourself when storing or removing the mandolin. Really well thought out kitchen tool.
