Our son builds Lego/megablock and has lots of parts and minifigures scattered around his bedroom and living room. In an attempt to combine some of these, we selected several buildplates that can be used for different designs and character renderings. They work great! The boy was busy building and rearranging. created all sorts of new things, and now they have a place to live that's a little easier to store away and out of reach for his little brother. I am confident that we will continue to expand our buildplate library over time. . The biggest problem with building block toys is storage and organization. This is not a solution, but a small start!
