Didn't last long but played well

This unit only lasted a few weeks after the warranty expired. Although it worked, it made good but not exceptional DVDs with both -R and +R discs. The disc and title labels were a little confusing and not as accessible as other DVDs I've had (Toshiba, Sony). A nice touch was the automatic title thumbnails added to the content screen. Can't speak to the convenience of using the built in timer since it was connected to a DirecTV system. a firmware update that required downloading a file from their website, copying it to a DVD on my computer and playing it on the unit. This process was relatively quick and easy, although I tried it on a rewritable disc first, I had to burn a disposable disc for it to work. After all, I had several video CDs and SVCDs at the time. They played very well on that line.

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent
Cons
  • Hard to tell
