We actually bought them a few years ago but they didn't contain any figures at the time. My son liked them sparingly at the time, but the foam soon ended up in the bin. Fast forward to this new batch and wow I can't believe how much more interested he is in this toy now that they include these cute little plastic toys hidden in the middle of each foam color. The characters are cute because the heads pop out. You can combine them to create "superheroes" or "magical" creatures. In our 6 piece set we have 3 golden figures and 3 normal multicolored figures. The foam never dries out and that makes it a huge improvement over the clay and clay options. We just store ours in a large ziplock bag. In addition, the texture is soft and fluffy, making it comfortable and easy for young children to work with, unlike clay, which can be difficult for small hands to shape. I actually had to search for unboxing videos on Youtube to find out. They pivot at a point below the ribbon wrapped around the bottom of the tube in the center. My son has played with this for hours and I plan to order 6 more packs to give him the opportunity to build more figures. styrofoam
