I bought this chair mainly because of its carrying capacity. Properties were the second thought. I mostly used a broken chair to do my job and the need for a real office chair became apparent when I started having leg pain and swelling from not having a proper seat. I'm a very tall guy. I'm 6ft 1in and 400+. I was primarily attracted to this chair for its carrying capacity, the features weren't a factor in my purchase so I don't consider them. But everyone works and works. functioning. I ordered the chair on the 4th and it arrived on the 12th. I am not satisfied with the seller due to the long delivery time, but it was worth the wait. Revain have had it back in stock since my purchase and I would do so Many prefer to buy direct from Revain rather than a participating supplier just for shipping reasons. However it was mostly assembled in one large box. It came in 4 pieces and I was very pleased to see it. Also, the back was assembled and the butt was packaged separately. Installation took less than 5 minutes. Simply insert the plunger, remove the protective cap and install the seat onto it, then remove the screw from the backplate and slide. into the slot on the seat and insert st. optical latch. Did. I'm sitting in it right now. The chair seems quite stable. Like I said, I'm tall, so that's a big factor. So far it feels very educational, more than my office chair at work (including buying another Safeco chair for the office). My rating is based on the chair only and not the long shipping as this is a supplier issue and does not apply to the product itself. The only downside to the product that gave it 4 stars is that the backrest isn't high enough. I've seen other reviewers complain that it's too short for their long legs. My guess is that these buyers tend to be tall rather than tall. In my case, as mentioned, I'm 6ft 1" and have a lot of padding, so the height is just right for me. Actually, I just lowered it a bit. Of course, I've always liked the lower seat chair, but I digress. . Back to 4 stars. The height adjustment on the back is very small. Right now it's pressing on my fat man and about 4 inches below optimal support level in the center/curvature of my spine. It's also as high as it gets. This is a significant disadvantage, but then again, I'm taller and that's to be expected when I'm buying furniture without seeing the eye. taller than 6 feet, I would be careful with this chair. It's worth the risk, but probably no more. If you're over 350 pounds, I'd be careful too. fluffier than me, that would probably be uncomfortable. FYI I wear size 50 men's jeans. Hope this helps other buyers. Overall I am happy and buying a chair online is a big gamble. For the price the padding could be a bit better in my opinion as I think it won't be very comfortable in the long run, but for now it's pretty durable and comfortable. Also, for the money I think they could make the backplate longer and customize it more. It's disappointing, but I'm mostly in front anyway, so it's not an obstacle. The curve of my back slides into the curve of my spine when I recline (further back than upright) in the resting position. So this is acceptable for my intention. I have a chair here if I want to lie down. PS I know I'm fat. That's why I bought the Big&Tall chair. This rating is for other fat people, not tall or normal people. There are far better chairs out there for the money if you fall into these categories. For taller individuals who need the resilience of this chair, this is not only acceptable, but a welcome respite from worrying about the chair breaking. Written on 07/12/12. Please don't hesitate to follow the review in the future. I'll try to update in 6 months and 12 months but who knows so don't hesitate to ask for an update. If anything goes wrong I will update it immediately.-----------Update--------------11/10/2013Looking for a new chair and forgot B my review I decided to provide an update. I've had this chair and spent hundreds of hours of work and play in it over the past 19 months. I'm not as happy with it now as I was when I bought it. This chair became very uncomfortable with prolonged use. It's very hard and after a few hours your lower back hurts. The backrest quickly began to slip and became almost completely unusable, aggravating the lower back pain. This chair will work for some but is not comfortable for long term use. Although very well preserved. I know nothing about mechanical faults in this one. I downgraded my rating from 4 to 3 stars. It would be 2 stars for discomfort but 3 for build quality if not comfort. ------------- Update --------------- 3 1/2014 19 months have passed. The piston in this chair has apparently failed within the last month. It no longer remains elevated, but simply sinks down when sitting and is therefore even more rigid on the spine. Unfortunately, this happened just before the 90-hour week, most of which was spent in this chair. Now I have back pain and need an MRI. Now it can only be used with a foam pillow. I deducted a star. Didn't last 2 years otherwise I would have given 3 stars. Maybe there is a guarantee, but I doubt it. It's also not good enough to continue, so I just snapped a star and wanted to post this update. I would avoid this chair and possibly this manufacturer. Don't get me wrong I've seen worse and had a hard time in my home office but it was never comfortable and now it's broken in less than 2 years.
