I'm trying to get off plastic and reduce the amount of waste I've created, such as washcloths that need to be recycled. Enter that silicone thing, it had a bit of an odd smell when it came out of the box but I think it's really just silicone and it wasn't too strong or bad. I definitely recommend using liquid soap/shower gel instead of a bar of soap. I was very skeptical about how it would lather, but it definitely lathers well. I had no problems there. I'd say I need to put more soap on it to get it completely clean, but I'm not mad about it. Finally, I don't know if it flakes off a bit because I don't pay attention, but it definitely cleans better since there's more dirt in the water. Overall I am happy with my purchase and bought this for my wife so she can talk about the benefits for her skin.
