From 15-20 seconds to 60 seconds. I'm not sure if it's better to let them inhale all at once or spread the breath out over a minute. but the bowl is cute i like it and i think the dog likes it - like she likes to give out toys/puzzles. The little rubber feet fell off right away and my husband lost one while unpacking (they are small) - so the rubber feet were gone. The bowl slides across the floor. I put it on a big round rubber kitchen pin (it's like a rubber mat the size of a big salad plate) Also it's on my rug so it doesn't slide crazy on the floor during the first part of feeding - it won't fit in Stainless steel dog bowls (would be great if it fitted). One star off for tiny rubber feet that were never used! *Rubber feet should be bigger and stronger and stay on the bowl!
