I was concerned about previous reviews that said the toy sometimes stopped working within minutes of use, but I bought it anyway - it looked too good to pass up. Before using it as a preventive measure, when I installed the batteries, I also used a cotton swab to coat the entire sealing ring that protects the battery compartment (not just outside the compartment, but all over the black rubber ring) with Aquaphor. Then I closed the battery compartment, tightened all four screws and smeared more Aquaphor onto the remaining gap. I am very pleased to report that after almost a month of heavy daily use (plus both parents showering when we had just attached it to the tub) this lucky little water machine is still working. Maybe other machines were unsuccessful and we were lucky and got a working one, but if Aquaphor makes a waterproof barrier I just wanted to share it in case it helps others to keep using this great toy. One star deducted for having to do this and not waterproofing the battery compartment itself.
