Argh. I really want the Marycraft dress to fit me. For reference, I'm 5ft 1in, 115lbs and ordered a size 2 in burgundy. The material of this dress is pretty good - it's a heavy dense synthetic jersey, very durable and with a smooth matte texture. a slightly flatter color than I expected - the gray I ordered earlier had a good range of threads that added volume - but it stretches just enough to make it textured yet responsive. I have to say this - this is a very 'warm' dress - don't try it in warm weather! Everything is beautifully tailored. The darts that make up the jacket are particularly lovely - they give a great three dimensional effect to the outfit is stylish and classy. I love the asymmetrical button placket ". Unfortunately the fit is really bad. The bodice is very, too tight, especially in the bust area, and I have very small breasts and a small breast. The shoulders are also wide making them chunky and unflattering Waist is ok but I have a naturally very small waist The ends of the sleeves are very cheaply finished in contrast to the rest of the garment. The waist of this dress actually seems to be too high (!), which I found ironic given the extremely long torso of other Marycraft dresses I've tried. The jacket is lined everywhere except for the sleeves. Yes, and the sleeves are pretty tight. The buttons are large, strong and well stitched, but due to the weight and tension of the material, they don't seem to be sewn securely enough. Another Marycraft jacket I lost a button trying on. I felt like they were about to rip off in my hand. The rest is beautifully stitched, just odd proportions. PS May I add this: I received a note with the dress asking me to contact the manufacturer directly if there were any issues and that means a 1, 2 or 3 star rating that the customer is dissatisfied, that he lived with the reviews and that they do EVERYTHING to make the customer happy. Ok I understand. And it's amazing customer service. But if it stops people from writing honest reviews - because the manufacturer is reassuring them - then you really create a big problem when people don't have a clear idea of your product and as a result keep ordering, having problems, sending things back etc It would be better if we know what the product really is.
