Some reviews say you only need to buy bleach or that it does the same thing as bleach or other cleaning products and that's probably true but I feel more confident using it for my rabbit and use my bird There is NO silver bullet for easily removing urine or poop stains from plastic like the floor of a rabbit hutch, but it certainly makes everything cleaner and smells cleaner. It works great on metal and with a small brush it's better than the $20 bird dropping cleaner sold at my pet store. It also smells fresh and obviously doesn't smell like bleach and seems to mask some old urine smells (like from a hamster cage etc.). cage and make it smell or look like new. - Disinfect is not a disinfectant, bleach or antibacterial agent - it is a cleaning agent. What it does - makes it safe for kids by helping to clean the cages (unlike bleach) - makes the inside of the cage safe to clean (especially in winter when you don't have a chance to take pets and animal cages outside to cleaning in sub-zero temperatures and/or ventilating the area) - clean feces and urine satisfactorily from plastic, glass and metal - make things smell better - be secure enough that pets can be confined while cleaning (e.g. in an aviary) or immediately returned to the cell.
