Don't know when it happened, thought close together within a few strokes and things are piling up for storage but somewhere along the way I ended up with brushes that I wouldn't like to. . I've always had long hair, and even having a comb in my purse came in handy. In the last ten years I just couldn't find a single brush I liked. Then I remembered. All of those brushes that I fondly remember had METAL bristles! Bought and I'm SO happy! It goes through my thick hair so easily. Not static. Easy to hold. It has a soft base so it doesn't hurt when combing. Weird, but I love this brush! That's all I needed! The tips of the bristles are also made of metal and are shaped in such a way that they do not scratch the scalp. Also included was a small rake to clean the brush with extra bristles.
