I set it up to my liking and rarely touch the remote. I didn't care, but it's true that light is a bad joke. It is in the kitchen and serves as a night light. This fan is located in the kitchen by the culinary nut, so it is used 5-7 hours a day. It quietly moves a lot of air. I didn't like the fact that I could see the fan through the gap so I cut a strip of white coil to cover it. I think the factory should have done this as it really improves the overall look. I bought it because I liked the look of it and that made me reach into my bag. Although it's expensive, I don't feel cheated.
