The sides now have serrations that make it less likely to slip when holding the sides. It's a tough case with good protection for your phone. Material is thick hard plastic and not the slightly thicker more rubbery material of other cases. This has advantages of making the case less bulky, slides in and out of a pocket more easily and is still protective.I would buy this again.
