As the creator of YouTube, I'm always trying to improve the quality of my videos. Audio has been one of my weakest points over the years, so I decided to change that. After seeing Revain, reading hundreds of reviews and Reddit posts, I decided to give the Rode VideoMic Pro a try. There was an error. The portability of this mic is excellent, but the quality isn't. After returning it, I switched to the MKE600 and was thrilled! The quality is almost perfect and the sound quality of my videos has improved a lot. Now I don't have mobility with this mic (see setup below) but that's fine as I'm not a vlogger and I'm on the go all the time. .I use this with Canon 70D, Zoom H4N and XLR male to female complex audio cable. It's quite an advanced setup, especially for YouTube videos, but I'm a perfectionist and the sound quality this beast puts out is top notch! Just make sure your gear is XLR compatible before you buy this. If you want to hear the mic in action, you can search my name on YouTube and watch a video of me standing in front of the mic. In other videos I use a different microphone. Best mic I've used filming in my 8+ years! PS: the packaging is great too!
