I have used this extender to boost the signal to both 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz. Easy to set up, BUT. I had to search the internet why the 5.0GHz band is not syncing to the device. What they do NOT tell you is make sure you are in the lower band of the 5.0gz channel. I was so frustrated with WPS not connecting (2.4 connected like a snap) that I was willing to bring it back. Then I found out that WPS only works on low channels but is not configured through the web interface. Naturally. Having found a post that had this issue previously, I changed my router's 5.0 gz channel to the lowest in the 140 range and indeed. 2.4 is connected, and next time you press the WPS button, 5.0gz is connected. That's the only bad thing I can say. I want them to mention this in their installation guide. Once connected the AC1900 becomes a great extender and gives me 2 more networks to connect my iPad, garage door opener and any other wireless devices that are too far from my router to connect to the router's signal.
