Heavy duty rubber material
Decided not to drill holes in tailgate. I used double sided LLPT tape to hold the mat in place, I'll probably use screws later to attach the edges of the mat. I will be back in a few months to update the tape hold. I used a utility knife and regular scissors to cut through the rubber mat, an easy process. One star off because my first order didn't come with any screws. Although the exchange was quick and easy. Ford Ranger 2020.
