Finally a fan of glue guns

The best of a long sad line of used hot glue guns. One of the best features of this model is the very handy glue stick feed mechanism. When the built-in glue stick runs out to the point where it won't move forward, simply insert a new stick and continue gluing non-stop. No more fiddling around trying to glue the new stick to the old one or holding the piece, pulling the trigger and pulling the new stick along with just two hands. The gun holds temperature well with minimal dripping on standby, but when you pull the trigger this little guy releases very hot product which definitely helps ensure a solid connection. The first test was to press a slightly curved piece of 3/4 inch plastic wood against a flatter spruce board to resand the plastic wood with a sander (to prepare a small sign). Approximately 2 inches in diameter. The hot glue patch not only held the plastic wood firmly against the spruce board during sanding, but also ripped off several splinters from the spruce board upon removal. And that's even after using denatured alcohol, which usually serves as a pretty good release agent for gluing hot glue. One of my favorite downsides to previous glue guns is the instability of most of them when idle. It seems like it was always too easy to knock many of these toy guns over in some way, off the table, under the workbench, etc. This model probably coped with standby mode as well as I've seen. The detachable handle stand and the fold-out nozzle stand make the Standby almost "bombproof" without getting in the way when gluing. Also, while this pistol isn't "heavy," it's slightly heavier than most, which seems to make standby mode safer as well. A disadvantage, however, is the rubber pad on the palm of the pistol grip. It is meant to be held in place by numerous small protrusions that fit into slots in the plastic handle. The tabs on my model don't seem to fit or hang, but of course it doesn't get in the way. With or without a rubber grip, the best glue gun I know for the price.

Pros
  • DESIGNED FOR COMFORT: Ergonomic trigger for maximum grip and comfort. Requires less trigger pressure than traditional hot glue guns. It also has a stable integrated metal stand.
Cons
  • Skimpy Instructions
