Omnigrid rulers are great for cutting fabric with precision using a rotary blade, and great for using scissors too. When working with scissors, I use the omnigrid ruler to determine where to cut and then make a straight mark with a pencil. fabric no problem. The yellow marking is clearly visible and very helpful in determining the desired size. For example, a 1-inch ruler has yellow marks at 1/4-inch intervals down the center of the ruler and black lines along the center mark 3/16-inch and 3/8-inch at either end; This makes it easy to line up the ruler to the exact measurement you want. On the edges, yellow markings indicate 1/8 inch pitch. This set is great for quilting because of the different ruler sizes. The 1 inch ruler is ideal for adding 1/4 inch seam allowances and creating straight edges on small pieces of fabric. Two large rulers make it easy to cut large parts. They are small enough to be placed on the sewing table without interfering with your sewing. Space on the back of the rulers. This really helps hold them in place while cutting.
