That's exactly what it says. I needed a new backplate because my secondary CPU cooler required the screws to come out of the back of the motherboard. I couldn't find any backplates for AM4 sockets that just had unthreaded holes in the corners, so I bought this type and just used a metal drill bit to drill out the threads. I actually ended up drilling the whole nut out of the corner, but my bolts with washers still worked fine. If you do it this way, be sure to blow or vacuum the part before installation. You do NOT want small metal shavings dangling around inside the PC. Eventually you will short out something. Much luck!
