This was the cheapest stand I could find of this type. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on this particular product. I went into this purchase knowing that this product may need modification to get the desired results. With that in mind, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the build quality of this stand is actually quite good. The only thing that confuses me is the thin wooden spacer used to hold the laptop upright. The pad gives a lot so the laptop shakes when I tap on it and I think it needs to be replaced after heavy use. In addition, the stand is very slippery and slides on the table. I need to attach some felt pads to keep it from moving when I type. Overall I give 5 stars because the quality is better than I expected.
