Let's face it, the Apple TV remote sucks. I'm a fan, drank Kool-Aid, blah blah blah, but I still think this is one of the best examples of Apple putting form over function. First, it's almost impossible to sense and determine orientation without looking. Then there are random registered touches. So why do I have two? Because otherwise I like Apple TV. So enter those little silicone cases. They solve both of the problems I described above AND feel nice and grippy. My only issue right now is that some apps expect you to tap the left or right edge of the touch surface to fast forward or rewind the video (like Youtube TV). My solution is to use a paper hole punch to cut a small 8mm section of the silicone where it covers the edge of the surface. This is enough to register clicks correctly. Experimenting to get the right fit, I needed a few cases to experiment with and the ugly green cover was my victim. So you have 4 sleeves at a very reasonable price and a happy family. Big.
