Looking for a fairly portable heater that puts out a decent amount of heat at close range this does the job well. A well-known manufacturer of fans, and the device itself is made in Vornado's corporate design. The heater/fan has a main switch and an additional switch to control the heat (Off/I (Low)/II (High). The fan itself runs at a speed which I think is a bit fast for winter, but it will not overload The fan has an orange safety footswitch - lift the heater fan up and it will stop immediately.I might take it apart one day to see if there is a heater fuse that blows if the fan fails, but most fans do have a pretty long life through anyway: I sometimes wish the heating element put out more heat, but that doesn't mean it's not worth considering or buying, especially if you need heat right away, and not 12 x 15 ft. - or cook meals for your colleagues around you, as long as they allow personal heaters in the office, or better yet, put them on the table My countertop is glass, but if the fan does not fail, there is no risk that the wooden table will also burn out. Yes, I like this little fan. Small, handy, does what it takes to keep me warm and not wasting heat where it's not needed. The fact that the heating element can be turned off makes it useful in the summer too, when a quick flow of air is much more appreciated becomes. follow up if you have problems, but other things being equal, it's worth buying.
