The soles of my golf shoes were so loose and there was so much dirt around the spikes that they could NOT be lost. Removing the old spikes was a real challenge as they just twisted around in the socket. Removing them still wasn't easy, but it wouldn't have been possible without this tool. I've tried all sorts of tools - pliers, etc. Only this tool helped. After pulling the old ones out, I glued the soles back on with shoe glue and the new cleats went in easily. they hold up well.
