I was looking for this type of design to protect my iPad 8 easily. The pen holder for my first generation Apple Pencil fits perfectly. I agree with the previous poster that a little texture on this material really dresses it up a bit and gives it a bit more grip protection, but there's nothing wrong with the way it looks and feels. flat on the foldable part at the end and lift up for a writing surface. It is not made for this use. I feel a slight pressure from my finger. Helps keep the raised crease in place for extra use. As long as it wears well, it's exactly what I ordered and was looking for. Keeps me mobile and light. Nevertheless, you have to be careful, the iPad is by no means a durable protective cover. It fits perfectly in my tote bag. There's also a little extra room for my cheap, thin keyboard, which I carry with me for use outside the home. I take it on the road because it's thin, light and doesn't cost much if something happens to it. My pen, keyboard (if I want to) and iPad 8 are a perfect match. Note: If I don't put the keyboard in the case, it's still snug and there's very little room for a comfortable fit. Thanks Vi.
