I bought a Lenovo Active 2 pen for your Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Yoga 2-in-1. I decided to write a detailed review as I couldn't find it anywhere for this pen. YUP! It works with the Yoga X1, no driver installation required, which made me very happy. The Yoga X1 came with a stylus toothpick (Thinkpad Pen Pro 3) that slipped into the holder on the side of my computer. The Active Pen 2 is far more useful than the original stylus. It's comfortable to hold (although it's a little lighter than a traditional stylus), feels great, the side buttons really stand out so you can find them easily, and the extra button with blue teeth on top is a nice touch. Additive! To boot, this is one hell of a nice pen. My main criticisms of the stylus are tips/nibs, button placement, USB "holder" and top button functionality. 1) The nibs that come with the pen seem to be a bit wider than the original X1 yoga stylus, making writing in small print a bit difficult. 2) The USB holder is pathetic at best. I'm afraid to use it as it might damage the USB port. A magnetized image of it would be more appropriate. 3) Unlike the pen that came with my laptop and the Active Pen 1, being able to find buttons without looking down is great. However, they are located relatively low on the pen body, making it easy for my fingers to accidentally press them while using the pen. 3) The top button seems to have only one function, although the stylus settings offer up to 3 separate functions for it. This is most likely due to the stylus not being designed to perform more than one function, so this is a fairly minor complaint on my part. I actually found this pen a few hours after ordering the Lenovo Active Pen 1 and immediately canceled my order to purchase this one. I'm glad I did because I think Lenovo made a great upgrade to an active pen. With the Surface Pro Pen, I find it to be a phenomenal replacement for computers with Wacom AES digitizers, as opposed to the Surface Pro N-trig digitizer. All in all I would highly recommend this pen to the Active Pen 1 and honestly anyone with a Wacom AES computer.
