I have normal medium length hair that breaks easily. This is a great tool. It's a bit unusual at first. You should hold the end of the strand of hair with your other hand to push it towards the heat of the brush. If you have straight hair then this is perfect for you. Mine is layered so it's easier to smooth out quickly. It shines and smooths without the use of creams or oils. It heats up in about 30 seconds and can be used on both dry and wet hair. It's hard to get burned if you don't touch the hot plate from the side. I only gave it 4 stars because I find it to be a bit big, chunky and a bit heavy.
