The case color is the same as the picture and the thumb grips (which are on the bottom of the box) are perfect for a little extra grip if you move it around a lot (or hold the switch on one end). The case itself is decently thick, although I'm not sure how shock-absorbing it is since it's made entirely of plastic. If you just want an aesthetic case, I would definitely recommend it. If you want something softer, I don't know if this is for you. Note: When plugged into the charging station, the plugs can be a bit difficult to see at first, but if you orient the switch correctly, it fits perfectly.
