We have a family that prefers to take a shower instead of a bath, but we don't wet our hair every day. As African Americans with thick hair, we look for products that suit us. My son has curly hair and the rest of our family has very thick hair which makes this product perfect for us. There are adults and children in our house who use this hat. I will say that you need to prep your hair a bit. before putting on your hat, depending on how much hair you have or how thick your hair is. For example, use invisible bobby pins to pin up curls, or twist two strands, maybe just braid two if you have a natural pull. After that, the cap should seal better. We didn't have to stretch it much, so I'm not sure it will return to its original shape when stretched. If I notice a significant cap change, I'll post an update!
