There were no instructions on how to use these straps and it took me a while to figure out how to put them on correctly. All but the shortest strap designs were not flexible enough in terms of length. I didn't buy them specifically for cable tying, but for a variety of purposes. When wrapping a bundle of items/cables that is much shorter than the maximum length of the cable tie, the hook at the end of the cable tie extends beyond the loop of the cable tie to avoid pinching. Thus, it seems that the length of the hook part of the tie should be longer than it is. This limits the diameter range that the cable tie can clamp.
