The first impression is extremely positive! AM reception is very good even when standing next to my large laptop. Second impression: FM is better! It scans both bands for you, easily finding up to 50 on each (I think that's for urban areas where there's too much radio?). Here he captures all the essentials of NPR. It fits easily in a shirt pocket or the smallest purse, pocket, etc. The controls are easy to read and use. Don't let the picture fool you, the small yellow stripe at the bottom comes off easily and the radio doesn't look as bright as the pictures above. Battery life seems impressive and there's even a charge level indicator. (There's even a spare battery they've used in cell phones all these years, just in case - you can take a spare pair into the field and use them for potentially months.) If their attention to detail is paramount to their SD card implementation - the is a real winner! There's even a flashlight! The only negative, well, I can't find it yet.
