Exactly as described and was needed to replace the broken one. I knew exactly what I was buying so no complaints. although one would think that the price of PS3 remote controls would have dropped significantly. I'm pretty sure I paid around $20 when I first bought it with a PS3 four years ago. At the very least, it should be cheaper than the new PS4 remote (which isn't the case at the same price).
