My RC50MR Kenwood remote stopped working and the volume either went down to zero or rose until my eardrums hurt. This remote control was a good replacement. Although the dimensions of this remote were slightly larger than the original, I didn't have to drill any additional holes and it covered the existing hole perfectly. The wiring consisted of the same 4 wires (power, ground, lighting and connection to the device). There was 1 wire that was a different color than the original unit, but it was easy to understand. The device looks nice and is connected to my panel button so the backlight works with the panel switch. The controls aren't perfect, the buttons don't seem to recognize every press, so I press a few times to increase/decrease the volume and stop when the volume is at the desired level. The rest of the buttons seem to work, but without a display it's hard to understand what they're doing. I only use this 99% for volume and am happy with the results, which are similar to the block they replaced.
