Brown box. Was not prepared for what was inside. The wood is gorgeous and finished perfectly. Both the wooden box and the wooden pen. I have turned a few dozen pens in my lifetime with exotic woods, and this was done really very well. Everything is smooth and glossy. The pen writes like any CROSS style pen as far as the ink and smoothness of the ball point. Impressed is the one word that comes to mind as I hold and use this pen and glance over at the wood box it came in. I wonder if there are choices to get other styles and wood colors as i would want to get many many more for myself and to give as presents.
