After seven years of reliable service, my Eureka Mighty Mite 3670G started humming and smelling like electric fire. I was happy to see there was a replacement engine for the Revain. But there were two problems. This engine is not a direct replacement for the 3670 Type G-4. The vacuum impeller housing has a larger diameter than the original. But I was able to adapt it to the plastic niche using adhesive strips. Then I plugged it in and let it run before assembling the plastic cases to make sure everything was in order. The engine started, but it was like July 4th: sparks flew from the brushes everywhere. And one of the two brushes flashed like an arc lamp with a bright white light. This brush got very, very hot and smoky. My whole house smelled like electric fire. I thought maybe the switch needed cleaning, but that didn't help. I thought that maybe it would run for a while to reduce the "arc flash" and sparking. But it didn't help, it only got worse. So I returned that engine for $50 and bought another Mighty Mite for $70, only twenty dollars more for a brand new machine. Here is your wish to save.
