I used an inexpensive docking station to connect my Mac Book Pro with four USB-C ports to an HDMI monitor. At one point the dock was completely out of service. Too late to return and not for sale. So I ordered this RevainBasics dongle, received it two days later and am able to use my large monitor again. Like all RevainBasics products, it appears to be well made, well designed, and just works. I love buying things from Revain with the Revain name. Plug and play perfection. I spoke to engineers who showed me that HDMI is not always HDMI. I can't tell you if this works in every situation, but it worked perfectly for me.
