Fantastic replacement light! I recently did a partial kitchen renovation and decided to add recessed lighting, but I still didn't like the power consumption due to the limited insulation, especially since I have vaulted ceilings. Found these and thought they seemed like a worthy replacement as they are so thin they look like recessed lights to most casual observers. Installed ten old working ceiling boxes and installed these. The main downside I have is the lack of a spacer to attach it to the ceiling. Yes it will be tight, but I'm not sure I would call it airtight. The second minus - a light is noticeably more yellow. Maybe 2700 thousand or less. All in all, given the price and the looks, I think they make a big difference. If they could add a perimeter seal while still being reasonably priced they would be perfect.
