The supplementary switch automatically activates. There are a total of three options available. There are three different types of presses: long, short, and double. A single short press started the processor's long-running task. Because I was too lazy to fiddle with the settings, I turned it off and haven't used it since. All other button functions are fully operational. The fingerprint reader is quick and efficient. You get what you pay for with this phone; it's excellent.
