with one of these on, A) youre less likely to spill water on yourself and B) actually able to drink from it while walking,i took this on a two week hike and it made it so much better cause i didnt have to stop walking to take a sip. wide-mouth nalgenes are great waterbottles but make it super hard to drink from for fear of getting drenched. i still leak some water while drinking sometimes, but compared to the amount i would lose if i didnt have the mouth gard, its basically nothing.MAKE SURE YOU CLEAN IT OFTEN. if you let water sit in it for a while you need to clean the mouth piece or else it smells gross. however a good bit of scrubbing for a minute or two usually takes care of it. i dont think the plasitic is very porous so it wont grow stuff on it.
