Review on Exquiss Suncatcher Squares Suncatchers Activities by Linda Diaz

Great kit! Includes everything you need. (But additional pom-poms will require your own glue.)

This kit has *everything* you need, so you don't even need scissors, pen, punch or ribbon. (Now that I think about it, this makes a great holiday activity.) My 3-year-old decided to use one of the card templates instead of contact paper, but that's fine because it came with a glue stick meant for gluing works tissue paper on cardboard. I made my sun catcher out of tissue paper using contact paper and I love the effect. I cut the tissue paper into four pieces for myself as it comes in quite large pieces. (And I used my own scissors for this because baby scissors are a bit cumbersome in adult hands.) I didn't know they came with pom poms so thought it would be a nice bonus. until the pom poms started falling off my sun trap. And the glue stick was useless to stick them on the cardboard. So if you want to use pom poms you need to use your own glue. I thought about deducting a star for this, but I honestly bought a kit to make tissue paper traps with my baby, so pom-poms don't really interest me. I ended up simply removing the remaining pom poms from my sun catcher and adding white tissue paper where they were. We're going to use pom poms for something else. I look forward to making more sun catchers from this set. We could even make it in the shape of a heart (I will draw the cutting line by hand as there is no cardboard template for this). Edit: We made a shamrock and a heart. I decided to use a second sheet of contact paper to create a laminating effect to better preserve them as we plan to use them as decorations again next spring. I found it easier to just draw a shape on contact paper, tape the tissue paper to it and then cut it out than cut it out first and then trim off the excess tissue paper on the sides. The supplied marker can only be washed off with water. Edit 2: It would be nice to use a spare set for this, but since I couldn't find any more 8.5 x 11 contact paper I bought 8.5 x 11 self-adhesive laminating sheets, which work fine. (I didn't want to use a roll of contact paper because I find the curled pieces difficult to work with.) I also bought 1 inch squares of tissue paper which I like a lot more than the larger squares of this one. came with.
