Not recommended, but works if used correctly.
As soon as I received it I already had the round stock/metal which was falling apart around the bottom. It does its job, you need a certain angle to use it perfectly. I prefer to buy stainless steel. Not perfect, but not bad either. I'd rather use my bread knife to remove the pineapple eyes.
