My almost 5 year old son is the perfect age for marble mazes and screwdriver toys. This is a great toy that combines those things. The screwdriver also works with other similar sets we have, so now we have multiple screwdrivers and all the kids can play at the same time. As others have said, drilling with the board standing isn't ideal, so it's best to leave it on your lap while you make adjustments, and then get it back on its feet. Suggested designs usually work well, and you can improvise as well. Building your own can be tricky as you need to have everything you need to make marble. We use different marbles with this set in addition to the marbles included in the set. Any marble will do. Sometimes the balls fly away instead of reaching the end, but my son isn't worried at all - he's more worried when he does. The child tests the tracks. With other screwdriver toys, my son drills himself, but with this one he is a little overwhelmed and prefers only to be a tester.
