Looks like a good humidifier. I've only had it for about three or four weeks, so unfortunately it's not a long-term report. (I really appreciate it when people come back later and write reviews. I'll try.) But I also have the Anypro Cool Mist Humidifier 3.5L Ultrasonic Humidifier and can compare them a bit. I personally like this one better. It holds more water, more and lasts longer. It doesn't produce anywhere near the amount of vapor that Anypro produces when both are maxed out. But I find that a high setting is enough for me. I have it near my bed (above my headboard actually and the mist falls right on me) while the Anypro at altitude leaves a very humid surface underneath, this Vicks V4600 doesn't. For those who really need a lot of mist in the room, the Anypro might be better, but the mist on these ultrasonic humidifiers falls almost directly in front of the device, so this can be a moot point. same light as anypro but while i like the idea of night lighting i found anypro too bright and the light on the handle itself is very bright. it would be nice to have a soft light especially so you can see the water level but i think , I can put a soft light next to the Vicks when I need it. did and fail I've tried (it's hard to find a good humidifier. I doubt it's because it's hard to make a good one, but more so because companies would rather save you money and put you in a few years would sell a new one), this has to be one of them the strongest (comparatively). I've found conflicting reports as to whether or not it has an auto shut off. Some information (even consumer reports) says it doesn't, but I finally got in touch with the right person at the right store and yes it has an automatic shut off. This bothered me, especially when there was no light in the tank. The essential oil diffuser in Anypro is completely useless. It's just a small compartment that sits at the top, separate from everything else. You can drip oil on the counter with the same success. Haven't tried the Vicks pads since I just got the pad but it looks promising. The compartment you put the mat(s) in (you can put two) at least warms up. After all, this is Vicks based on the idea of vapors for colds, etc. So let's hope for the best. If I was really serious about oils, I would buy an actual diffuser. Finding a decent humidifier is a lot harder than it should be. Hope that helps a little. If you want, feel free to ask me any questions in the comments. i think i will get them. I have attached a photo to show the difference in the amount of fog.
