Like many people, I buy wiper blades at my local discount store. You can maybe use them for a season and then they start cracking and streaking your windshield. After watching a few YouTube videos and reading reviews of silicone wiper blades, I decided to give them a try. The only maintenance you need to do is make sure you wipe them down with 50-50 isopropyl alcohol and water every few months to keep the blades clean. I've had the same sadness since last winter and haven't had any issues with streaks or the blade itself breaking. They may cost a little more upfront but will save you a lot of money over the 3-4 years of their life. Just make sure to clean your blades every 46 months during the dry season with a mixture of half rubbing alcohol and half distilled or tap water to remove dried dirt from them so they don't bleed or break prematurely.
