This worked exactly as expected with great recording quality, zero configuration and reliable service. It was also slightly cheaper than its competitors, although prices fluctuated wildly. It should be noted that I bought it at the beginning of the COVID19 crisis. This created a huge demand for similar products: a major upgrade from traditional webcams paired with a decent digital camera or camcorder. (This is probably another demand driver: As people spend more time at home, people are certainly exploring other home entertainment options, including making YouTube videos.) So HDMI capture devices are due to long lead times, high prices, or both together. It was surprisingly affordable and did what I needed. I can't speak through the audio inputs of this device as I've never used it that way (I used a different microphone plugged directly into the computer). My observation is that a lot of the lower reviews here focus on that. I use it mainly for its video capabilities, which it has done very well.
