The unit was easy to assemble. The instructions were clear enough, the included tools were good enough, and there were sufficient bolts and washers and what-not. Some other people reviewed that assembly was difficult but I don't know why they would think that.Once assembled and the gas tank hooked up, the fire started perfectly and effortlessly. The color is not the same as that of a wood fire, but it's propane so what do you expect? It's still nice to look at. My family and the kids enjoy sitting around it and making smores. I think it would be nice to have a door on the other end of the base unit as well. If it provided a build-in shelf to hold the glass rectangle that sits above the fire. With the unit as delivered there is no place to store the glass thing and leaving it in place keeps the metal lid and the cloth cover from fitting properly.Overall, It’s a nice addition for our deck. It makes our deck more cozy for the gatherings.
