I bought these to draw on rocks. They are easy to hold in your hands and easy to use and keep your surroundings clean. The colors are lovely and the size of the line is a good middle road. I have been drawing little insects on the rocks and these are perfect for that - if you need fine detail for small faces they would probably be too large. I have been spray coating the drawings about 24 hours after they are finished and the matte and glossy finishes are adhering well.
